About Me
I am a senior in the Jackson Academy for Global Studies at the high school, and I am currently working on my senior capstone project for JAGS. A capstone is a final project that involves the idea of identifying a problem that is close to one's heart and finding a way to solve it. My project centers around the need for helping animals, particularly in finding homes for animals in need and placing them with students and families in our district.
I want to help find animals their forever home with our Jackson Polar Bears. If within the community you have a pet that you can no longer take care of or have babies that need to find a home whether it is a cat, dog, rabbit, or anything else, I will put up a picture of the animal and a short bio about them and the current owner. The website will be updated weekly or whenever there is a need or an adoption available. I will also post on this site once the animal has found their new home. My contact information (kmevans0121@bearworks.jackson.sparcc.org) will be available for anyone that has questions or concerns. I will help them get into contact with those that are wanting to adopt and rehome a pet.
After I graduate I plan to either hand this website over to an incoming senior and continue to help them through the process or I will continue with it myself by updating the website while in college. My goal for this site is to make it so that people are able to find a pet that needs a new home in the area and that could be someone who is close to you and you can make a connection with them. Kids love animals and no matter what happens their pet is right there by their side during the good and the bad times. Animals can sense when you are not feeling well and need comfort, so if I am able to help showcase the love that they give then I am happy! With the permission of the parents, I am willing to put a picture of the family and their pet or pets on the site for the animal of the week (I already have two pets featured!)
